I was a competitive athlete for two decades, as a result much of my work examines feats of endurance and athleticism. As an NCAA division II track and field thrower as well as a power/olympic lifter, striving for achievement and greatness has carried on into my practice. My workout regimen is closely linked to my practice, and vice versa. I attempt to break down the body and build it up simultaneously, from the physical process of building muscle to the material process of building up the surface of the work. The paradox of competition is exactly what has motivated me.
